FATTORIA DI BACCHERETO
The Bacchereto farm is located on a hill, between 180 and 300 m. above sea level, on the slopes of the woods that cover Montalbano, in the production area of Carmignano wine, the oldest DOCG in the world. The farm has belonged to the owner family since 1920.
The vineyard area is 8 ha, 60 ha are planted with olive groves and the remaining 90 ha are woods and fruit chestnut groves. Being in an area that has always been suited to viticulture, we try to respect what nature offers us: little production per single plant, careful care of the vineyard without using herbicides, chemical fertilizers or pesticides, a traditional cellar practice without additions of yeasts or other, a refinement in small 350 liter oak barrels, a subsequent refinement in bottle for a minimum of 6 months, is the path of our “Terre a Mano” wines.
We produce 4 different labels: Carmignano DOCG “Terre a Mano” – Bianco Toscano IGT “Sassocarlo – Terre a Mano”, a pure Trebbiano – Vin Santo di Carmignano DOC, with grapes left to dry on mats and then for 10 years in caratelli – the red wine made from sangiovese grapes.
