FATTORIA LORNANO
Lornano is owned by the same family since 1904, located on the hills south-east of Castellina in Chianti, on the border between Castellina and Monteriggioni and has been a member of the “Consortium of the Historic Chianti Classico Gallo Nero Brand” since its foundation in 1924 The company practices a sustainable agriculture model that promotes environmental balance and preserves natural resources. At Lornano we produce high quality wines, without the use of chemical fertilizers and herbicides, using only minimal quantities of added sulphites. The property extends for over 180 hectares of which 70 are under vineyards. 80% of the vineyards are made up of 15 different Sangiovese clones, carefully selected, which express all the authentic characters of this ancient and incredible grape. The remaining 20% is cultivated with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small percentage of white Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes, used for the production of our famous Vin Santo DOC. The Lornano vineyards are characterized by different soils and microclimates, at an altitude of 300 m above sea level.
We will be happy to host all those who are interested in visiting the historic cellar and tasting our products, also paired with local cheeses and cured meats and, upon reservation, with typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine.
