IL BORRO
Tenuta Il Borro, a winery owned by Ferruccio Ferragamo in which his son Salvatore Ferragamo (now CEO) and daughter Vittoria (responsible for the organic garden and special projects) are involved, covers an area of seven hundred hectares, immersed in the heart of Tuscany, in the Valdarno Superiore basin. Of these, 45 are vineyards, 40 olive groves, 180 intended for fodder and arable land, 2 hectares for organic vegetables and the remainder left for forestry. The company has been entirely organic since 2015. The 45 hectares of vineyards, in organic conversion since 2012, located between 300 and 500 meters above sea level, enjoy unique pedoclimatic conditions that allow the creation of quality wines. Native vines, such as Sangiovese, but also vines of the “Tuscan tradition”, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, today coexist together, adapting as best as possible to the variability of the soils.
The estate is also part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux Association.
