VILLA DI VETRICE
We are a family, with a history dating back to 1885, which has been involved in wine and olive production in the Chianti Rufina area for six generations.
Our area develops in a valley that goes from north to south, where in the evening a wind begins to blow from the north, which in the summer period leads to very high temperature variations between day and night which favor the ripening of the grapes and the maintaining the characteristics of freshness and purity of the typical fruit of our wines.
We strongly believe in native vines and native olive tree varieties, in fact in 2002, thanks to the collaboration with the University of Florence, we began research on the Viticultural Germplasm of Chianti Rufina. This activity led us to the creation of a collection of the vines found, our “Vitiarium”.
Here it is possible to visit the Vitiarium, the historic Vinsantaia, the aging cellar with barrels, tonneaus and barriques, the chapel dedicated to Maddalena de Pazzi.
