Event: TOURIST GRAPE HARVEST

Three nights and four days with a very rich program

IN TUSCANY FOR THE 2024 TOURIST GRAPE HARVEST

At Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino and at Fattoria del Colle in the Orcia DOC for the 2024 tourist harvest with a very intense 4-day program with experiences and tastings

PROGRAM

DAY I

3-5 PM arrival and check in to accommodation

5.30 pm guided tour of the Fattoria del Colle with the historic rooms of the villa and the cellars: tinaia, bottaia, vinsantaia, Brunello infernotto

6.30 pm aperitif in the historic cellar with Spumante  brut rosé Metodo Classico

7pm Fattoria del Colle restaurant tasting dinner with 4 wines accompanied by 4 traditional dishes: Tuna in Chianti with Chianti Superiore, pinci with wild boar sauce with Cenerentola Doc Orcia, Pork fillet and potato millefeuille with Brunello DOCG, pear in wine with Sienese desserts and Vin Santo del Chianti

DAY 2

Buffet breakfast with homemade biscuits and desserts, dips and omelettes, local cold cuts and cheeses

10am meeting point in the courtyard, grape tasting lesson with an oenologist with explanation of the vegetative cycle of the vine and the ripening of the grapes

Practical harvest test with scissors and boxes. Participants learn to select bunches from those that are not yet ripe.

11am in the cellar for the tasting of the Sanchimento white IGT must from the steel vat and the amphora

5pm horizontal tasting of 4 wines from the same year with different grape varieties and names

Experience the sounds of the vineyard during the 4 seasons of the year and at  4 different times of the day.

DAY 3

Buffet breakfast with homemade biscuits and desserts, dips and omelettes, local  cold cuts and cheeses

Travel to Montalcino Casato Prime Donne with your own car

10am tasting of Brunello grapes together with an oenologist.

Explanation of the equipment for harvesting Sangiovese grapes and selecting the grapes using the optical reader. Understanding the different containers for winemaking and ageing in wood.

Tasting of the must at different stages of fermentation. Barrel tasting and understanding of the differences between the vintages and the different types of oak barrels (5 and 7hl tonneau, barrels)

The tasting continues with the Rosso di Montalcino, the Brunello vintage, selection and Riserva.

4pm Fattoria del Colle photographic safari in the vineyards

5pm Small lesson on the history of wine in Tuscany and Sangiovese

Awarding of certificates

DAY   4

8.00 – 10.00 Buffet breakfast with homemade biscuits and desserts, dips and omelettes, local cold cuts and cheeses

Price: 3 nights in a double room with bathroom and breakfast: €387,00
